Building Resilient Faith – Training for Vocational Discipleship #10
Series:Resilient
Building Resilient Faith – Training for Vocational Discipleship

Definition: Vocational discipleship means knowing and living God's calling (understanding what we are made to do) especially in the arena of work, and right sizing our ambitions for God's purposes.

Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work heartily as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

Resilient Building

Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Question: Are our goals for the next generation more about how our kids make us feel than they are about what God is calling them to do and be?

When asked "What do you want to do in life..." 3 Buckets/Categories emerged.
  1. Entrepreneurs
  2. STEM
  3. Creative Careers
3 Purposes of Work... Genesis 4
  1. Create Beauty
  2. Cultivate Abundance
  3. Generate Order
Resilient Disciples say...
  1. I see how my faith and my work are inseparable.
  2. I know how to help others discover who God made them to be.
  3. I am not just a consumer, but a maker, a creator.
  4. I feel confident for the future because I know God will provide.
Acts 18:1-3; Acts 18:24-28
