Duration:33 mins 58 secs
Revived Stones: Lessons from the Book of Nehemiah
  • 2 Chronicles 36:14-16; Jeremiah 32:36-38; 2 Chronicles 36:22-23
Nehemiah's Concerns...
  1. The Jews who had survived the exile.
  2. Jerusalem
Are you concerned for the welfare of God's people?

The Bad News...
  • The people are in trouble and shame.
  • The walls are broken down.
  • The gates are destroyed.
Bottom Line: There is great trouble in the American church!

Nehemiah 1:4-11
1. Nehemiah wept and mourned for days.
  • This is a man who is more concerned with the people of God than he is with his own life.
2. He fasted and prayed before the God of heaven.
  • Nehemiah 1:5-6; 2:3-4
  • No movement of God ever began without prayer and fasting.
  • "Most of us will never hunger and thirst for righteousness because we have been trained to feast on the junk food of our age."
3. He confesses and Repents.
  • No blaming someone else.
  • Confession is where I tell God I am not longer going to run my agenda, I commit to running yours.
2 Chronicles 7:14
  • His people
  • Humble themselves
  • Pray and seek his face
  • God will hear from heaven.
  • Forgive
  • Heal the land.
4. He moved with boldness
  • To seek the face of God is to seek the things he wants and the things that bring him glory and honor.
  • Do we have any Nehemiah's?
